On July 16, 2008, Oracle announced availability of the next-generation release of the Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) System, the industry's most comprehensive, fully integrated EPM solution. (Watch the Webcast with Oracle President Charles Phillips and Senior Vice President Thomas Kurian.)
Coming roughly a year after the acquisition of Hyperion, this release represents a major step forward in the integration of Hyperion's market-leading performance management applications and business intelligence (BI) technologies with Oracle's BI foundation, Fusion Middleware stack, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications.
"Oracle EPM System delivers the foundation, applications, and seamless integration needed to integrate and transform management processes across the value chain and drive global insight into action," says John Kopcke, senior vice president, business intelligence and enterprise performance management. "Because companies across entire industries have already reached high levels of operational excellence, organizations who want to retain their competitive advantage must go the next step to achieve the kind of Management Excellence that the Oracle EPM System makes possible."
Integrated, Complete, Hot-Pluggable
Oracle EPM System supports the strategic financial and operational management processes across a common foundation that enable organizations to become smart, agile, aligned and better able to optimize enterprisewide performance.
This next-generation release includes a number of innovations and capabilities to improve business insights and decision-making and helps organizations drive greater value from their existing Oracle investments.
- Enhanced integration with the Oracle E-Business Suite enables drill-through from EPM applications directly into transactional systems for faster, more accurate analysis.
- Common Web workspace, Microsoft Office interface, application administration, installation, and lifecycle management capabilities across the Oracle EPM System help drive lower cost of administration and ownership.
- A new Oracle Hyperion Profitability and Cost Management application helps provide actionable insights into costs and profitability across different lines of business (see the press release).
The Oracle EPM System Fusion Edition is available now for Windows platforms and is planned to be available shortly for Linux and UNIX platforms.
